Omar Hammami is member of the AFIS, IEEE, INCOSE and several associations among them TUNCOSE and  CESAMES.

Omar Hammami is heavily involved in international cooperation and is an INCOSE Ambassador for Tunisia. He has served as an expert for projects evaluation for several organizations in the field of system engineering, embedded systems and international cooperation.

Omar Hammami has published over 180 papers in international conferences and journals in the fields of computer science and system engineering. He has supervised several research teams including over 60 Master students, 9 PhD students and is currently supervising 5 PhD students. He was Head of Research Laboratory in Japan from 1997 to 2000 where he spent 7 years from 1993 to 2000.

 He is involved on a regular basis in the organization of several conferences and events  worldwide. He is actually involved in MENA region for System Engineering projects.
